Methodology and limits
Every computed value keeps its source, reference, and validity visible so it can be checked against the official material used for the flight.
Methodology, sources, limitations, and privacy
Methodology
The tool keeps weather provenance, wind reference, performance validity, loading completeness, and export readiness as separate states. METAR true wind is converted before comparison with reviewed planning magnetic runway bearings. Unsupported performance conditions return no distance.
Sources
- NAV CANADA weather and aerodrome products
- Transport Canada Aeronautical Information Manual
- Québec MTMD Airport-Runway open dataset
- NOAA World Magnetic Model 2025
- Cessna Model 152 POH reference conditions displayed beside each performance result
- Aircraft-specific weight-and-balance values entered by the user
Limitations
This is a training aid, not an official weather briefing, dispatch release, approved aircraft document, or Saint-Hubert Flying College product. Runway bearings and magnetic variation are planning references. Always verify current aerodrome data, the POH carried in the aircraft, its current weight-and-balance sheet, NOTAMs, official weather, school procedures, and instructor direction.

Reusable constants and an in-progress flight are stored only in this browser. The selected retention period is 1 to 24 hours, and saved work never crosses a calendar day. Passenger name and telephone number, weather review checkboxes, and generated PDFs are not saved as browser constants. Settings include a control to clear all saved flight-form data.
